Testimonials

"Thank you, Jon, for taking the time to work with me and for being a good listener."

Nancy D.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you decide what to cover in the newsletters?

A: The purpose of the newsletter is to raise client awareness and understanding of the actual benefits received through regular massage sessions. The subjects in each issue are chosen to achieve this goal. By addressing both subjects that easily interest virtually all clients (tension & stress; back, neck, shoulder pain; etc.) and those that expand their interest in their health (why do muscles ache; what is fascia, etc.), the newsletters keep health issues, massage benefits, and you on your clients' minds.

Q: How many issues do you publish per year?

A: Each year, six new issues (81/2 x 11, front & back) are published. Release dates are January, May, and September - with the January, May, and November issues featuring reminders to purchase gift certificates for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and for the holidays.

In addition, there are newsletters available for more specific subjects (see Available Issues).

Q: Do you have back issues?

A: Yes, more than 40 back issues are now available, with more being added to the list each season (see Available Issues).

Q: How does your service work?

A: When you place an order for one or more issues of Staying in Touch, each issue you order will be prepared with your contact information (name; address; logo and/or web address, if you have them; phone number(s), etc.). You will be sent the original master copies of each issue for you to own. You can then take your master copy to a local print/copy shop (like Office Depot or Kinko's) and make as many copies as you need on the paper of your choice. Save the originals for future use.

Many therapists sign up for a year of new issues to get the latest news on massage. Others select from the menu in order to receive issues that cover specific subjects, while some therapists order a combination of new and past issues. By ordering several issues at once, you get a better price and can expect better long-term results. Just like a series of massage sessions can do more to improve a client's overall health, regular newsletters can do more to build a healthy practice.

Q: How much will it cost me to use your service?

A: The more issues you order at once, the more you save per issue. If you buy one issue to try, the cost is $40. If you order six issues, each one costs $30. Order 10 issues and pay only $25 each; 18 or more is only $17 each.

Q: Is this a cost-effective way to promote my services?

A: It's very cost effective. If you mail to 100 - 200 clients, your total cost (including master copies of newsletters, postage, copying, paper, etc.) to send six issues per year is less than $5.00 per client household. That's $5.00 a year to send six educational reminders to each of your valued clients. If each client responded with just one or two massages a year, you're way ahead. If several clients start coming once or twice a month, your minimal $5.00 annual investment in them will be returned to you many times over. And, if you have a larger client base, the cost-per-piece is even less. Remember, it's the educated clients that are most likely to develop into your best, most regular clients. Since loyal clients are - quite literally - your practice, aren't they worth a $5.00 annual investment? Show them how much you care about them!

An even more cost-effective way to stay in touch with your clients is through the email newsletter service. You eliminate the need for copies, postage, etc. and can reach all of your clients who have email quickly for literally pennies a month per client. For a sample email newsletter, click here.

Q: Can I customize an issue?

A: Yes, you can. Each issue has a "personal" message box on the front page, and a "special offer" box on the back page, so there is room for you to share personal information. Whenever you want to do so, we typeset these areas for you for a nominal typesetting charge. If you have nothing personal to share - or if you're just too busy - these two areas are filled with information appropriate for each issue.

Q: Are the issues dated?

A: No. Each issue has "Vol __ No __" on it (Vol 1 No 1; Vol 3 No 4; etc.) Each year the Volume # is increased.

Q: What will your newsletters do for my practice?

A: One therapist had this to say: "It brings continuity, allowing me to share what's new with all my regular clients. It gives them an incentive to come back to see me - to take action." (See Client Comments.)

Among the responses we hear most often:

  • The newsletters inspire clients to schedule their next appointment
  • The clients say they enjoy reading the newsletter(s) and learn from them
  • Gift certificate sales increase
  • The therapist receives compliments and thanks for caring enough to send the information

Q: Do I have to sign up for a year?

A: No, you can get any number of issues you wish.

Q: How do I order?

A: Several ways. Send an email with the best times to reach you, download the pricing information (See Available Issues). Fill in the Form and mail or fax it in, or simply call in your order with a credit card. We prefer to have the opportunity to speak with you personally, so feel free to call!
